Centropyge angels are favorites with hobbyists due to their small adult size, attractive coloration, and generally hardy nature. Red Stripe Eibli’s Angelfish, also known as the Eibli Angelfish, is appreciated for its understated beauty, featuring a tan to light brown body accented with fine horizontal striping and a distinct dark patch near the tail. Like other dwarf angelfish, they can be territorial and may show aggression toward other angelfish or similarly shaped fish, particularly in smaller aquariums. Eibli’s Angelfish are typically reliable feeders and will accept a wide variety of prepared foods. A varied diet fed at least two times per day is recommended for optimal health. In the wild, they feed on filamentous algae, sponges, tunicates, and other benthic organisms, so offering foods that include marine algae and sponge matter is beneficial. Their natural diet may also include occasional coral nipping, meaning Centropyge eibli is considered reef safe with caution. This Dwarf Angelfish grows to about 5 inches in size and is best suited for aquariums of 55 gallons or larger with ample live rock for grazing and shelter. The Red Stripe Eibli’s Angelfish is found throughout the Indo-Pacific, particularly in the Indian Ocean, where it inhabits coral-rich reef slopes and rocky areas at depths of up to approximately 60 meters.
